Style of wedding dresses

There are different styles of wedding dresses this will depend sometimes the type of wedding your having. Along with different styles you can get different colour dresses most dresses will be either white, cream or ivory but some dresses can be colourful these are harder to come by and it may depending on your criteria and you may find it better to go to a seamstress and dress designer.

The main styles of wedding dresses are:

- Ball gown

- Mermaid

- Vintage tea dress

- A line

- Fit and flare

Ball gown has a fitted bodice which is usually fully detailed with gem stones to decorate and give the shine to the dress and a corset back. This is teamed up with a full skirt with several layers of tulle. This gives the effect of a tiny waist and wider hips. This style of dress is classified as a princess dress.

Mermaid style is a dress that is figure sculptured down to your knees which will then flare out from your knees. The flare at the bottom of the dress is made up of layers giving the dress a wow factor. The back of the dress is either a zip or corset detail.

Vintage tea dress is a shorter length dress that generally sits about 6 inches from your ankles. These are perfect for petite brides or for whom don’t want a full floor length dress. These are a shorter version of a ball gown normally.

Aline is a toned down ball gown, the name is the silhouette shape which creates the A shape on the body. The material is usually a selection of lace, tulle or organza but can also be made from silk.

Fit and flare is a toned down version of a mermaid dress that will still hug your assets but don’t want it to be as restrictive as the mermaid style.
